Terms of Service

Effective Date: June 1, 2025  ·  Last Updated: June 1, 2025

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the website operated by FORTE LLC ("FORTE," "we," "us," or "our") or engaging our construction and renovation services. By accessing our website or entering into a service agreement with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Services

FORTE LLC provides residential and commercial construction, renovation, and related services in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. The specific scope, timeline, and cost of services are defined in a written contract or proposal agreed upon by both parties prior to commencement of work.

Use of our website is for informational purposes only and does not constitute a binding service agreement. A formal written contract must be signed before any work begins.

2. Quotes and Estimates

Any quote or estimate provided by FORTE LLC — whether through this website, by phone, or by email — is non-binding and subject to change based on final project scope, site conditions, material costs, and other factors. A binding price is established only in a signed written contract.

3. Licensing and Insurance

FORTE LLC is licensed and insured to perform construction and renovation services in the DMV area. Upon request, we will provide proof of licensing and insurance prior to commencing any project.

4. Payment Terms

Payment schedules, deposit requirements, and final payment terms are specified in each individual project contract. In general:

  • A deposit may be required before work begins to cover materials and mobilization.
  • Progress payments may be scheduled at agreed-upon milestones.
  • Final payment is due upon project completion and client sign-off, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Late payments may be subject to interest or service fees as specified in the contract.

5. Changes and Change Orders

Any changes to the agreed project scope must be documented in a written change order signed by both parties. Change orders may affect the project cost, timeline, or both. FORTE LLC is not obligated to perform additional work beyond the original contract scope without a signed change order.

6. Client Responsibilities

The client agrees to:

  • Provide timely access to the project site during agreed working hours.
  • Communicate any known site conditions, hazards, or restrictions that may affect the work.
  • Make timely decisions when FORTE LLC requests approval or selection of materials, finishes, or design elements.
  • Make payments according to the agreed schedule.

7. Warranty

FORTE LLC warrants that all work will be performed in a professional and workmanlike manner in accordance with applicable building codes and industry standards. Specific warranty terms, including duration and coverage, are stated in the individual project contract. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, modifications made by others, or normal wear and tear.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FORTE LLC's liability for any claim arising out of or related to our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by the client under the applicable project contract. FORTE LLC shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

9. Delays and Force Majeure

FORTE LLC will make reasonable efforts to complete projects within the agreed timeline. However, we are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, supply chain disruptions, permit delays, acts of government, labor disputes, or other force majeure events. We will communicate any anticipated delays as promptly as possible.

10. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute arising from our services, both parties agree to first attempt to resolve the matter through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, the parties agree to pursue mediation before initiating any legal proceedings. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

11. Website Use

All content on this website — including text, images, logos, and graphics — is the property of FORTE LLC and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without our prior written consent. You agree not to use this website for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage or impair its operation.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of our website or services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
